FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 24, 2014

“Women, regardless of where they work, deserve access to the fundamental benefit of contraceptive coverage. Research has shown that 99 percent of Americans have used of birth control within their lifetime, and 99 percent of Catholic women have used some form birth control. This is not only common-sense policy, but vital health care for women. While the Supreme Court did not weigh in on the merits of this case, we’re confident that the court’s decision in the two cases it has agreed to consider this term will turn out in favor of protecting access to this critical health-care benefit.”

NARAL Pro-Choice America and its network of state affiliates are dedicated to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom for all Americans. NARAL works to guarantee that every woman has the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion.
