Congressman Ami Bera Endorsed By NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC
NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC today announced its endorsement of Rep. Ami Bera (CA-7), a pro-choice champion who has always worked to expand and protect reproductive freedom.
“As a doctor and as an elected representative, Ami Bera is a proven champion for reproductive freedom and has defended the safe and legal access to abortion care that is supported by seven in ten Americans,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “In addition to having a stellar voting record in support of reproductive freedom, Congressman Bera has walked the walk when it comes to being a vocal advocate for expanding access to safe and legal abortion. He has shown leadership in pushing for a stronger commitment to international family planning and lending his voice to defend Americans’ reproductive freedom in front of the Supreme Court. Congressman Bera has always worked to empower women and their families to define and achieve their own success, and NARAL Pro-Choice America is proud to stand with him in his reelection campaign for Congress.”

Rep. Ami Bera has been a reliable champion for reproductive freedom and has a 100% rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America for his record in the 114th Congress. This includes showcasing his strong support for Planned Parenthood amid a coordinated and misleading smear campaign, opposing a 20-week abortion ban, and pushing back against attempts to further restrict abortion access by inserting the anti-choice Hyde amendment into unrelated bills. In January of this year, Rep. Bera signed onto an amicus brief to the US Supreme Court in the case of Whole Woman’s Health vs. Cole, advocating that all women have the right to choose an abortion and to make that decision free from unnecessary interference by the state.
