Today, NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC announced its endorsement of Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander in his bid for the Senate and state Representative Bill Otto (MO-02) in his race for Congress. Their perfect pro-choice voting records and continuous efforts to stand against attacks on women’s reproductive freedom make both candidates the champions for women and families we need in Congress.
“Jason Kander and Bill Otto have consistently demonstrated their commitment to protecting Missouri women and families,” said Joel Foster, NARAL Pro-Choice America National Political Director. “Kander and Otto are leaders that understand that women’s success is America’s success and that means making sure women have access to a full range of reproductive health services, including abortion care. Whether they’re opposing partisan efforts to defund Planned Parenthood or fighting to ensure women have access to basic health care, they’ve made one thing very clear: women’s reproductive freedom is a top priority. Jason Kander and Bill Otto are the kinds of leaders Missouri women and families need in Congress. We are proud to support them.”
“While Senator Blunt and Rep. Wagner have spent their entire political careers obsessing about outlawing abortion and restricting women’s healthcare, Jason Kander and Bill Otto have been working tirelessly to pass policies that truly help everyday Missourians. We couldn’t be more excited to endorse Kander for U.S. Senate and Rep. Otto in the second congressional district race. They are true champions for Missouri’s women and families,” said Alison Dreith, Executive Director of NARAL Missouri.
Kander and Otto are running against Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Rep. Ann Wagner (MO-02), both of whom have received a zero percent rating in NARAL’s annual rating of members of Congress.
