NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC today announced its endorsement of Rep. Steve Cohen—a champion for women and families—in his campaign for re-election to represent Tennessee’s 9th congressional district.
“We are excited to stand with Steve Cohen as he continues to fight for women and our reproductive freedom,” said Sasha Bruce, senior vice president for campaigns and strategy at NARAL Pro-Choice America. “We need leaders in Washington who make women’s rights a priority and not just an afterthought. We need leaders who understand why a woman’s right to access abortion is not just a “women’s issue,” but an economic issue and a family issue. We need leaders who will defend and expand access to basic reproductive healthcare, including abortion. We need leaders like Steve Cohen and we are proud to support him as he seeks re-election.”
Rep. Steve Cohen is a steadfast champion for Tennessee women and families and has earned a perfect score in NARAL’s voting records. As the ranking pro-choice member on the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee, Cohen has been on the front-lines leading the defense against extreme, anti-choice bills, including GOP efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, a nationwide abortion ban, and GOP attacks on women’s access to basic health care, including abortion.
