NARAL slams House vote to continue partisan, anti-choice witch hunt

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 1, 2016

NARAL Pro-Choice America issued the following statement in response to the vote in the House of Representatives to approve H.Res.933, which approves $800,000 to fund the work of the dangerous Select Investigative Panel:

Said Sasha Bruce, Senior Vice President of NARAL Pro-Choice America: “It is appalling that the House of Representatives just gave the dangerous Select Investigative Panel an $800,000 pat on the back for its work to peddle lies, waste taxpayer dollars, and put students, researchers, and doctors in harms way with its partisan witch hunts. Instead of spending time and money on initiatives that the American people want their members of Congress to focus on – like job creation – House Republicans have flushed over $1.5 million down the toilet with this panel. We’re repulsed by the latest action to keep this panel alive, and urge the anti-choice GOP to consider that the priorities of the American people are in direct opposition with the work of this panel.”

NARAL Pro-Choice America and its network of state affiliates are dedicated to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom for all Americans. NARAL works to guarantee that every woman has the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion. In recognition of its work defending our constitutional right to choose, Fortune Magazine described NARAL as “one of the top 10 advocacy groups in America.”
