NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue issued the following statement in response to the six month anniversary of the Women’s March, and the latest attempts by Republicans to repeal the ACA:
“Six months ago today, women organized the largest protest movement in history, flooding the streets of our nation’s capital and cities across the world to denounce Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and their fellow anti-choice politicians who want to roll back our right to access basic reproductive healthcare, including abortion. It’s telling that months later, those same politicians are ignoring the millions of women who marched in favor of appeasing the fringe elements of their base — individuals who want nothing more than to roll back the rights and freedoms women need to be equal partners in society. Their continued work to repeal the Affordable Care Act — the greatest expansion of reproductive healthcare in a generation — despite their constituents’ desire to preserve the law, is disappointing, but true to form.”
