New NARAL TV Ad Targets Democrat Dan Lipinski; Ad Is Part Of Launch Of “Let’s Dump Dan” Campaign

A new 30-second TV ad by NARAL Pro-Choice America hits Democratic Congressman Dan Lipinski for opposing marriage equality, not supporting background checks on all gun sales and voting to defund Planned Parenthood and ban abortion.

The ad follows a rare joint endorsement of Lipinski’s opponent, Marie Newman, by national progressive groups NARAL Pro-Choice America, MoveOn.org, Democracy for America, Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Human Rights Campaign on Tuesday.

“Dan Lipinski is way out of step with his constituents and with Democratic party principles when it comes to women’s rights, LGBT equality, and the basic freedoms that Americans hold dear,” said Mitchell Stille, NARAL’s National Campaign Director. “We’re going to work everyday between now and primary day to ensure the voters of his district know Dan’s real record and who he is really representing in Washington. It is far past time to Dump Dan.”
