Candidate in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District Earns Endorsement from Nation’s Leading Pro-Choice Advocacy Group

NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Angie Craig for Congress in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District. The Twin Cities seat, currently held by first-term anti-choice Republican Jason Lewis, is considered a toss-up, and is key to winning a pro-choice majority in Congress this year.
“We need fighters like Angie Craig in Congress, especially at a time when Trump’s anti-choice, anti-woman agenda continues to inflict an incredible amount of harm on women and families,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “Electing fighters like Angie Craig, who are in touch with the real interests of women and families in Minnesota, is key to establishing a pro-choice majority in the House of Representatives. She will work to expand reproductive freedom, including access to abortion and contraception, and we are proud to endorse her campaign for Congress.”
“I strongly support a woman’s right to choose abortion and access to affordable contraception,” Craig said. “I trust women. Jason Lewis does not – as both his record and his offensive comments about women have made clear. Minnesotans deserve better, and I will ensure that I represent their values in Congress.”

Angie Craig grew up in a working class family with a single mother, and has fought for women’s equality throughout her life. Craig’s professional experience has involved health policy, and she is an outspoken advocate for reproductive freedom. She has four boys, three in college and one in high school.
