After the Supreme Court sent the Justice for Jane case back to the lower court, NARAL Pro-Choice America National Communications Director Kaylie Hanson Long issued the following statement in response:

“We now live in a county where Trump administration officials are personally blocking young women from accessing their constitutional rights by any means necessary, sending the signal that this administration will undermine reproductive freedom every chance they get. Every woman deserves the right to make decisions about her life, body, and future—regardless of her immigration status—and NARAL members will fight back as the Trump administration continues to abuse its power in order to impose its dangerous anti-choice ideology.”

Along with continuously preventing Jane Doe from receiving proper care, the Trump administration’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) forced her to visit a fake women’s health center–a fake clinic that lies, shames, and intentionally misleads women about their health options. A spokesperson for Scott Lloyd, the Director of ORR, recently said that Lloyd “is going to make choices that he thinks are best” for the women in his care.

NARAL Pro-Choice America and its network of state affiliates are dedicated to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom for all Americans. NARAL works to guarantee that every woman has the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion. In recognition of its work defending our constitutional right to choose, Fortune Magazine described NARAL as “one of the top 10 advocacy groups in America.”

Everyone should be able to decide if, when, how, and with whom they start or grow a family.
