NARAL Pro-Choice America today congratulated Katie Hill (CA-25) for advancing to the general election in California.
“California deserves to be represented by leaders who aren’t afraid to stand strong for our shared values. That’s why we’re thrilled to celebrate Katie Hill,” said Nicole Brener-Schmitz, NARAL Pro-Choice America Political Director. “She will be a strong voice for California women and families and we are proud to have helped push her across the finish line to a primary victory. The eyes of the nation are on California and we’ll fight to make sure she’s elected in November.”

Katie Hill was born and raised in the California’s 25th Congressional district. She began her public service career as a policy advocate and changemaker at PATH (People Assisting the Homeless), a non-profit developing affordable and supportive places for people to live. In Congress, Hill will safeguard every woman’s right to choose an abortion, protect access to affordable birth control so women can decide for themselves if and when to start a family, and vote to guarantee funding for Planned Parenthood so all women have access to a full spectrum of reproductive health care services. Her opponent, Congressman Steve Knight received a zero rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America in 2016 for his anti-choice votes, including defunding Planned Parenthood and restricting contraception access. This race is key to determining control of the House in November. Knight has been repeatedly listed as among the most endangered incumbents in the country because he is so out of step with his district.
