As thousands of people gathered in Washington, DC and across the country to protest the Trump administration’s separation of families, NARAL Pro-Choice America Vice President Adrienne Kimmell issued the following statement:
“Over five million women, including countless NARAL members, marched in the streets on January 21st because we knew what was at stake, and we are showing up again today because we refuse to back down against Trump’s backwards ideology. Families belong together—period. Trump and the anti-choice GOP may claim to be the ‘pro-life’ and ‘pro-family’ party, but their values continue to erode as their policies prove time and time again that they believe the lives of immigrant families and brown children don’t matter. NARAL members, and millions of voters in November, will never forget the harm this administration did to families seeking asylum and the pain and suffering they have caused. To every elected official currently staying silent and complicit in Trump’s devastating agenda: We are watching, and we won’t forget. November is coming.”
