NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Harley Rouda in California’s 48th Congressional District.
“Harley Rouda will be the pro-choice champion Californians deserve, and his addition to Congress will be a major victory for women and families” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “With Roe v. Wade in jeopardy and our rights under constant fire, now more than ever before, Californians deserve someone they can trust who will fight for their values. We are committed to ensuring that Harley Rouda and other pro-choice champions across the state of California win this November.”
“If elected to Congress, I will proudly and loudly stand up for the reproductive rights of California women and families,” said Rouda. “For too long, the people of this district have not had their voices heard and their pro-choice values represented. I will change that and fight for them.”
Harley Rouda describes himself as 100% pro-choice, and, if elected to Congress, would vote to repeal the Hyde Amendment and expand women’s reproductive rights. He has been active in defending Planned Parenthood and attacking his opponent’s irresponsible views on reproductive rights. Rouda is a philanthropist, attorney, entrepreneur, and father of four. He is running to replace an anti-choice, pro-Trump incumbent, who is a supporter of abortion bans and has voted to rescind Title X family planning funding. Recent public polling puts Rouda within striking distance of a win in November.
