As Kavanaugh prepares to answer for sexual assault allegations, NARAL ad highlights Kavanaugh’s previous lies under oath

Today, NARAL Pro-Choice America announced a new hard-hitting digital ad campaign targeting Senator Shelley Moore Capito and highlighting the fact that Kavanagh has already lied multiple times to Congress. The ad ends by asking, “Senator Capito, why would you believe him this time?”

Senators who claim to be allies to women cannot vote to confirm Kavanaugh in light of these allegations. Senator Capito is a Holton-Arms alumnus herself, like Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.
Senator Capito, along with the Republican women who voted for the Violence Against Women Act, took a strong stance years ago and they must now. After fighting for sexual assault survivors then, they can’t possibly justify voting against women and our fundamental freedoms by supporting Kavanaugh now. Women and families across West Virginia and all of America are watching.
Evidence shows that Brett Kavanaugh has lied to the Senate Judiciary Committee at every one of his three confirmations hearings since 2004. Revealed documents show Kavanaugh is a skilled, intentional liar who is only concerned with his own advancement, and the GOP will stop at nothing to ram him through the process.
The ad comes right after an NBC/WSJ poll found more Americans oppose Kavanaugh’s confirmation than support it—the first time a Supreme Court nominee has been underwater in the history of the poll. The majority of Americans don’t want to see him on the Court, and Senator Capito can no longer ignore the will of West Virginians and the American people.
