NARAL Pro-Choice America congratulates Mike Levin on his victory in tonight’s election. NARAL Pro-Choice America members endorsed Levin and is proud to see him headed to Congress.
“Tonight’s win shows that when candidates fight for women and our essential rights—including the right to access abortion—they win. We need strong leaders who aren’t afraid to stand up for every woman’s right to choose if, when, and how to become a parent. Mike Levin is one of those leaders. Mike is a true fighter for reproductive freedom, and NARAL could not be more thrilled he is headed to Congress,” said NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue.

NARAL members made over one million calls to voters in phone banks all across the country, knocked on more than 43,000 doors, and held postcard parties, debate watch parties, rallies, and candidate meet and greets in dozens of states. NARAL members vote at rate of 90%, so much of NARAL’s $5 million election program focused on not only mobilizing our members but expanding the number of pro-choice voters. NARAL’s “Pro-Choice Majority Makers” program included TV and digital advertising, direct mail, and a nearly $1 million campaign to educate and engage suburban women voters in eight key cities across the country to help them understand what’s at stake if abortion is criminalized by anti-choice politicians.
NARAL’s 2018 political program was the organization’s largest ever midterm political program. Nearly eight in 10 suburban women, including a majority across all political parties, don’t believe politicians should interfere in a woman’s right to choose. NARAL invested $5 million in diverse candidates up and down the ballot in 19 states, mobilizing members and voters through mail, phones, digital ads, door to door canvassing, TV ads, and rallies that held anti-choice candidates accountable and lifted up pro-choice champions.
