Dear Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and Kevin McCarthy:
You and your Republican colleagues claim to be so-called “pro-life.” We have a different word for it. We call it hypocrisy.
You cannot claim to be “pro-life” when you’re actively:

Taking babies away from their parents and putting them in cages, with no plan to reunite them.

Making pregnancy a pre-existing condition.
-
Cutting programs that feed hungry kids.
-
Denying health care coverage to LGBTQ and disabled people.
-
Standing by while the maternal mortality rate skyrocketed and women—especially black women—died in childbirth.

Forcing families to drink poisoned water for years.
“As the GOP stays singularly focused on criminalizing abortion and demonizing those who stand up for families making personal medical decisions, it’s not lost on Americans that this is the same party that has attempted to rip healthcare away from us, separated families at the border and let the growing epidemic in maternal mortality go unanswered,” said Ilyse Hogue, President of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “Voters are desperate for leaders, not hypocrites who do nothing while wrapping themselves in a meaningless label of ‘pro-life.’ We are dedicated to holding them accountable and reminding every American what it really means to put women and families first.”
“The anti-abortion politicians who claim to be ‘pro-life’ are peddlers of shameless hypocrisy,” said the National Women’s Law Center Action Fund President Fatima Goss Graves. “At every turn, this administration and their congressional allies attempt to advance an agenda that hurts women, children, families, and those who are most vulnerable. It’s time to name the sham and fight against it.”
