NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Congressman TJ Cox in his campaign for re-election to represent California’s 21st Congressional District.
“With reproductive freedom under attack, we need strong champions like Congressman Cox fighting for us,” said Ilyse Hogue, President of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “Congressman Cox has always stood up for California women and families, and we are proud to support his re-election and send a proven fighter for reproductive freedom back to Congress.”
“I’m thankful to have received the endorsement of NARAL. During these trying times in our nation when American healthcare is constantly under attack, their critical work is more important than ever, “ said Congressman Cox. “I’m committed to upholding the freedom of women and families in the Central Valley and across our country.”
Congressman Cox was first elected in 2018 and represents parts of the Central Valley stretching from Fresno to the outskirts of Bakersfield. He came to Congress as an engineer and businessman and is the first Filipino-American congressman in California’s history. In 2018, he defeated a three-term anti-choice incumbent in one of the closest races of the 2018 cycle. He has proudly stood up for reproductive rights in Congress and has signed on to pro-choice legislation like Reproductive Rights are Human Rights Act of 2019 as part of his strong commitment to reproductive freedom.
