Congressman in New York’s 10th District and Chair of House Judiciary Committee Earns Endorsement from Nation’s Leading Pro-Choice Advocacy Group

Yesterday, NARAL Pro-Choice America announced its endorsement of Congressman Jerry Nadler in his campaign for re-election to New York’s 10th Congressional District at an event with Congressman Nadler and NARAL Pro-Choice America Political Director Nicole Brener-Schmitz.
“With reproductive freedom under attack across the country, we need proven champions like Congressman Nadler to keep standing up for us in Congress,” said Brener-Schmitz. “Donald Trump and his anti-choice Republican allies have launched a full-blown assault on reproductive freedom. They are stacking the courts with anti-choice judges and pushing a wave of extreme bans on abortion in states aimed at gutting Roe v. Wade, and eroding the rights of women and families at every turn possible. NARAL stands with Congressman Nadler as he works to fight back against these attacks on our fundamental rights and we are proud to endorse his re-election to Congress.”

Congressman Nadler has been a strong ally and true champion during his time serving in the House who has earned a lifetime 100% voting record with NARAL. During his time on the Judiciary Committee, he has led the fight against many of the anti-choice bills that came before the committee, particularly standing up against reason-based abortion bans and bans on abortion throughout pregnancy. Congressman Nadler has also been influential in promoting legislation to protect reproductive freedom, including authoring the Freedom of Choice Act, as well as being active on efforts to eliminate clinic violence, and protect patients’ privacy. He is also co-sponsoring Global HER Act and EACH Woman Act to protect access to abortion and reproductive healthcare regardless of a person’s background.
