NARAL Pro-Choice America today endorsed Jennifer Riley Collins in her historic campaign for Mississippi Attorney General.

“Mississippi women and families deserve a strong fighter in their corner, especially in light of unprecedented attacks on reproductive freedom. We are proud to endorse Jennifer Riley Collins’ historic campaign, knowing she will be that fighter,” said Ilyse Hogue, President of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “We must elect pro-choice champions like Jennifer who will work to protect Roe v. Wade and fight for Mississippians’ freedom to make their own decisions about their reproductive health care, free from political interference.”

“I am proud to accept this endorsement by NARAL Pro-Choice America,” said Riley Collins. “As a veteran of the United States Army, I’ll never stop fighting to defend freedom—including reproductive freedom—that allows us to do what is right for ourselves and our loved ones. The success of our families and communities depends on the health and well-being of women and children, and I will always fight for Mississippi families. The advancement of our community depends on access to full health care.”

Jennifer Riley Collins is a native of Meridian, Mississippi and has spent her life serving her community. She is a proud veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as Operation Enduring Freedom, and has spent a total of 14 years in active duty service in addition to 18 years of service in the U.S. National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves. She is a native of Mississippi with a demonstrated commitment to end systematic inequalities across the state. She most recently served as the Executive Director of the Mississippi ACLU, where she has been a tireless advocate for marginalized communities and continued her life’s mission of service by working to ensure all Mississippians can access their basic rights and freedoms. As Attorney General, Riley Collins would be the first Black woman elected for statewide office in Mississippi.
